Businesses based in Brighton & Hove are invited to submit up to three entries in any of the categories listed below, as well as making their own nomination for the Outstanding Brightonian.
Entry costs £50 (ex vat) for one entry or £100 (ex vat) for up to three to cover the administration costs of the scheme.

This award recognises those companies that are doing the most to develop initiatives which give something back to the community. It is not intended for community organisations that already undertake community action but rather those commercial organisations that have identified initiatives which are beyond their business objectives.
Brighton was named one of the world is hotspots for 2016 and it’s not hard to see why. This category is open to any organisation involved in the delivery of leisure, tourism, visit or attractions or hospitality that makes Brighton and Hove a great destination to visit.
This award recognises a successful event that took place between April 2015 and April 2016. The winning event will demonstrate innovation, a sense of distinctiveness and an occasion which really put Brighton and Hove on the UK map.
This award will be made to the company or individual that has created a business committed to helping the City become a greener place. It is open to all types of business from commercial, to community interest and the voluntary sector – as well as individuals.
This category is open to independently owned businesses, less than three years old and based in Brighton and Hove. The judges are looking for businesses and organisations that are already creating waves and show clear evidence of their ability to make the business succeed. Franchises are not permitted to enter.
The judges are looking for a clear commitment to customer care and innovative customer service. Everybody says that they do it, but tell us how your organisation is really delivering great customer service in Brighton and Hove.
This award is open to employers of any size or type in Brighton and Hove who have achieved excellence in providing an environment where employees can develop their full potential, achieve outstanding success for the business and really thrive! You are welcome to support your application with staff testimonials.
There are many businesses that have had great success trading beyond the City but which does the most to put Brighton and Hove on the national or international stage. This category is exclusively for businesses that have been trading for more than one year and do at least 40% of their business outside of the City.
As one of the one of the world is hotspots for 2016, shopping plays a massive role in the economies of the Brighton and Hove. The judges are searching for the best independent Brighton and Hove-based retailer. Franchises are not permitted to enter.
The judges are looking for an outstanding business that has made major strides in the creative industry sector. The Brighton-based business should be producing cutting-edge creative media and/or technology that has made a big noise in the creative world and beyond.
This award recognises businesses in the private professional sector (accountants, solicitors, lawyers, financial services, education etc) that provide quality service, unrivalled expertise and deliver a market leading service to their customers.
This award recognises a Managing Director who has made a significant contribution to his/her business, whether he is the owner or employed in the company. The judges of this category will be looking for a hardworking, creative and innovative individual who has demonstrated vision, clarity and focus in response to a range of business challenges.
NB: Individuals can submit their own entry. Alternatively, an employee, colleague or other interested party can nominate an individual.
This award recognises an outstanding fast moving business that continues to grow year on year, outstripping the performance of its nearest competitors. This business will demonstrate commitment to excellence through its continued investment in developing sustainable growth and has been trading for four years or less.
This award will be made by the judges to the individual how they feel has done the most in the last twelve months to out Brighton on the UK map.
