2015 Brighton & Hove Business Awards Winners Revealed

The winners of the 10th annual Brighton & Hove Business Awards (BAHBAs) were announced at All Saints Church Hove on Friday 4 September.

The big winner on the night was Posh Totty Designs, shortlisted for three and winners of Fastest Growing Business and Creative Industries Award as well as the newly introduced Judges’ Award for the Best Business in Brighton.

Also shortlisted for three was Organic Roofs which took home the award for The Best Environmental Industry Company.

Other big Brighton names who took home gongs on the night included Brighton Fringe who won The Best Event in the City, Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival for The Best Customer Service and SEA LIFE Brighton which was named Best Place to Visit for the second year running.

Individual awards were presented to Andrew Mosely for MD of the Year and Nick Mosley for Outstanding Brightonian, recognising his work in taking the Brighton food offer to an international stage.


Mike Gilson, Editor, The Argus and Chair of this year’s panel of judges commented: “The roof was raised at All Saints Church as each accolade was awarded – such is the spirit of camaraderie within the business community of our great City.

“The companies, and their leaders, showcased at the 2015 Awards demonstrate that combining passion and business nous with fun and individuality can be a real recipe for success. It is Brighton and Hove’s personality that puts it among the UK’s favourite cities, and that personality is reflected in our business community.

“While Brighton is renowned as being a creative tech-hub, our business scene is thriving with ever more successful companies across a range of sectors. From the professional services, to events, environmental industries, visitor attractions, creative industries, start-ups and restaurants, Brighton and Hove has it all. And no doubt, our economy would not be booming without such business talent.

“Our winners and finalists all demonstrated financial security, creativity and success; but were also chosen on merit of how well the run their businesses and how well they represent all that is best about the City. 

“I was impressed, and delighted, to note themes of staff retention, investment in staff training and development, and staff wellbeing initiatives throughout this year’s BAHBA entries. With such commitment to bettering staff and companies that are already excelling, the future is very bright indeed!”

They have all come together to create a competition which acknowledges the diversity and uniqueness of Brighton and celebrates those companies, organisations and individuals who really build the Brighton brand.
